Well it looks like we have another addition to our family. Today, January 14, 2008 Dakoda and Riley got a cousin! Yep, my Godmother, Nancy, and her husband, Dennis, adopted an 8 week old lab mix pup from a shelter in Hammond. Her name is Harley, yes, like Harley Davidson and she's cute as a button. They actually went over there to see another young dog, but it had just been adopted. So, they headed back home but not before making a call to the shelter to see what else was available. Sure enough, they had some retrievers (we are retriever loving people here, haha) and they headed back to the shelter and you know the rest!
I'm so happy my family decided to get a new dog and also to adopt. It touches my heart everytime someone cares enough to save a beautiful life like that. Congrats to Nanny and Dennis and to Harley on finding a wonderful, loving new home!**UPDATE** After watching Harley grow over the months, I believe her to be a Redbone Coonhound. Perhaps even a purebred.
